Pregnant
and considering adoption?
You
want to know what your options are? The tough choices ahead are yours to make,
but we are here to help guide you throughout this process with love and friendship.
Our desire is to assist you not only with your adoption plan, but also with
your overall life situation. Our hope is that your experience will be one
of learning, growth, giving, and perhaps a fresh start.
In the event a biological parent chooses adoption
for her child, the Agency may provide some or all of the following services
during the time of the pregnancy:
1. Birth Parent Counseling at no cost. You will be assigned an adoption counselor, whom you can talk to at anytime when in need.
2. Referrals to the appropriate social service agencies, ROLAA will assist you with the referral process.
3. Set up initial doctor visit, request specific tests, with consent of birth parent(s), and supervise all subsequent medical appointments and co-ordinate services at the hospital.
4. Talk with the biological parent(s) to ascertain if assistance with housing or living expenses is necessary and/or appropriate.
5. Rides to doctor's appt and hospital.
6. Make the selection for the adoptive family or have the birth parents make the selection. .
7. If birth parents request a meeting
with the adoptive parents, our agency representative will facilitate the meetings
and guide you through it.
8. ROLAA will assist with hospital discharge
services, and assist the birth mother with transportation, if needed.
9. ROLAA will assist with childcare or
foster care while a birth mother is hospitalized or unable to care for her
children. .
